For the 11th time in 12 years, a team of Bellevue Community College mathematics students has finished in the national top 10 in the annual American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges’ Student Math League competition.

This year’s BCC team finished ninth in the nation and first in the Northwest region, which includes Washington, Idaho and Oregon.

Three BCC international students currently living in Bellevue placed highly in regional results.

Donghyo Min, of South Korea, placed fourth; Quan Lam, of Vietnam, placed seventh, and Kwang Hyun Jeong, of South Korea, tied for ninth.

Teams from 179 colleges took part in the national competition this year.
