Bomb scare in downtown Bellevue, resolved
February 14, 2013 · Updated 7:11 AM
After several hours of investigation and much speculation by the public on twitter, Bellevue police determined that a suspicious package outside the Washington Federal Bank near Bellevue Square, was not a bomb.
An individual alerted police after seeing a man in a green car launch what looked to be a pipe bomb out his car window. The call came in at 4 p.m. and police immediately closed off the area around NE 8th and 100th Avenue NE, rerouting bus routes and other vehicles.
The bomb squad used its robot to investigate, take pictures and review the device. By 6:30 p.m. they'd determined that it was not a bomb.
