McKennas to co-chair fundraising for inclusive Bellevue playground
February 5, 2013 · Updated 7:39 AM
Rob and Marilyn McKenna will serve as honorary co-chairs of the $4.2 million capital campaign to create an inclusive playground for children
of all abilities in the existing Bellevue Downtown Park.
Inspiration Playground, a joint project of the Bellevue Rotary Club and City of Bellevue, will include renovation and upgrade of the existing playground and provide accessible space and play equipment for children
regardless of their physical abilities.
“We are passionate about getting kids off the computer, out of the house and into the fresh air and natural environment for children of all abilities,” said Marilyn McKenna. “We are so excited to be part of a project that will combine play with exercise to improve the health and wellness of our local population, including our seniors,” added Rob
McKenna.
“This one of a kind project is a first in Western Washington and an investment in our community for the benefit of generations to come,” Rob
Rose, Bellevue Rotary Club President.
The Bellevue Rotary Inspiration Playground is projected to break ground in 2014. For more information, visit the Bellevue Rotary Website at bellevuerotary.net/projects/playground.html
