Hague to host Town Hall on environment on May 10

King County Councilmember Jane Hague will host a community Town Hall on “climate change,” “sustainable communities” and “environmentalism” and present practical, everyday ideas for protecting the environment.

The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10 at Bellevue City Hall, 450 110th Ave N.E.

“Helping the environment can be as simple as bringing reusable bags with you to the grocery store,” said Councilmember Hague, Chair of the Council’s Parks and Utilities Committee. “The Town Hall is an opportunity to see common-sense examples of what we can do as individuals and communities to protect the environment for now and for future generations.”

Recognized leaders in the areas of green building, energy recycling, transportation and yard care will give presentations. There also will be speakers discussing climate change efforts by local governments. Guest speakers will include Bellevue Mayor Grant Degginger and Washington State Lands Commissioner Doug Sutherland.
