Youth award nominations sought

Bellevue Youth Link, a youth leadership program sponsored by the city of Bellevue and the Bellevue School District, is seeking nominations for its annual community leadership awards, which honor young people who provide outstanding community service. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m., Monday, May 12.

The 18th annual Community Leadership Awards ceremony will honor 17 young people, elementary through high school, in the following categories:

Most Inspirational Youth – Boy; Most Inspirational Youth – Girl; Athlete – Boy; Athlete – Girl; Scholar – Boy ; Scholar – Girl; Youth Leader – Boy; Youth Leader – Girl; Diversity Champion; Environmental Champion; Youth Volunteer – Boy; Youth Volunteer – Girl; Elementary School Student; Middle School Student; High School Student; “Warming Hearts Award;” Norm Maleng Award* (Bellevue Youth Court Participation Required)

Nomination forms can be picked up in Bellevue school offices, Bellevue City Hall, City Community Centers, Crossroads and Factoria Mini City Halls, and Bellevue public libraries.

Bellevue Youth Link will present the awards at a reception and ceremony Thursday, May 29, 7 p.m. at the Meydenbauer Center, 11100 N.E. Sixth St. The event is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited. RSVP to Bellevue Youth Link at 425-452-2846.
