Season of Sharing gift drive under way

November 26, 2012 · 11:54 AM

Bellevue city employees are collecting gifts to benefit those in need during their 27th annual Season of Sharing campaign.

People interested in contributing can retrieve a gift-wish tag or money envelope from a Season of Sharing trees at City Hall. The requested gift, with original tag attached, can then be dropped off at designated boxes; money donations should be left at the Service First desk. Both the boxes and desk are located on the first floor of City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE.

A second Season of Sharing tree will located at Bellevue’s Mini City Hall at the Crossroads Shopping Center, Northeast Eighth Street and 156th Avenue Northeast.

City employees are working with several local nonprofits to provide gifts to people with disabilities and to families. The organizations include Eastside Domestic Violence program, Friends of Youth, Children’s Response Center (Healing the Hearts of Children) and the YWCA Women’s Shelter. The organizations support families who may be living in poverty or who just want to provide a holiday atmosphere for their children.

The last day to drop off gift and money contributions will be Monday, Dec. 17.
