Clyde Hill Police officer shoots at truck that attempted to run him over

A Clyde Hill Police officer fired at a vehicle Friday night, Aug. 31,  after the occupant rammed a police cruiser and attempted to run over the officer.

The incident happened in the 1800 block of Northeast 96th Street.

After the truck sped away, it crashed and two subjects fled the scene on foot. The officer was not injured.

The Bellevue Police Department assisted Clyde Hill PD in the search for the suspects and the investigation. Kirkland and Bellevue K9 units tracked for the subjects. One subject was located in the 9300 block of N.E. 14th Street and identified as the passenger of the truck. He was arrested and transported to Overlake Hospital Medical Center with a superficial gunshot wound to his arm and was later booked into King County Jail.

The driver of the truck was not located and is described as a white male, 18-20 years old with platinum blonde short hair, wearing sweatpants and athletic type shoes.

The incident began earlier in the evening at a residence in Woodinville. The two subjects stole the maroon Dodge Ram truck when it was left unattended and running in the driveway. There were several reports of a recklessly driven pickup truck which ultimately entered into a Clyde Hill neighborhood.

If anyone has any information regarding the driver of the vehicle please call 9-1-1 and ask for the on duty officer at Clyde Hill Police Department.
