Man tells Bellevue Police that he killed his wife

March 24, 2012 · 11:18 AM

Bellevue Police say a man in his 70s walked into a police station Friday and told officers he killed his wife two days earlier. Police who went to the couple's Bellevue home found a woman dead.

Spokeswoman Carla Iafrate says the man was arrested for investigation of murder. Neither the man nor the woman was immediately identified, although the spokeswoman said both were born in 1940.

Iafrate declined to discuss how the woman was killed and said there is no apparent motive yet.

Police were at the home late Friday looking for evidence.

Neighbor Jawad Hashimi described the home's residents to KOMO-TV as "quiet people."
