14 students honored by AAUW

Fourteen Bellevue students will be honored for excellence in math, science and technology by the Lake Washington Branch of the American Association of University Women.

Fourteen Bellevue students will be honored for excellence in math, science and technology by the Lake Washington Branch of the American Association of University Women.

The awards will be presented April 23 as a part of the AAUW Scholars Recognition Program.

The scholars selected for 2008 are:

Math Scholars: Mimi Fung, International School; Linda Meng Lian, Newport High School; Manisha Thuparani, Sammamish High School; Jennifer Vandergrift, Interlake High School; and Melissa Winstanley, Bellevue High School.

Science Scholars: Hannah G. Ahn, Newport High School; Catherine Cheng, Sammamish High School; Taylor Martin, Bellevue High School; Navaporn Ratanaluksanopas, Interlake High School; and Andrea Rodgers, International School.

Technology Scholars: Ashley Bonnell, Interlake High School; Celia Chung, Bellevue High School; Melanie Mahan, Sammamish High School; and Tina Tai, Newport High School.

Each honoree was selected by her school and will be given certificates of excellence and flowers.
