Bellevue Fire and Eastside Fire and Rescue firefighters responded to a house fire in the 16300 block of SE 40th Street in Bellevue on Thursday. No injuries were reported from the blaze.

A resident noticed a large amount of black smoke coming from back wall of the home, the first firefighters to arrive found the basement and carport were fully enveloped in flames. The King County Fire Investigator is still investigating the cause of the fire.

The residents were able to escape. No firefighters were injured during suppression activities. The fire caused a partial collapse of the home and destroyed the structure. American Red Cross representatives responded and are assisting two of the three residents with temporary housing.
