A holiday is switching up the maintenance schedule for the SR 520 Evergreen Point floating bridge. The monthly maintenance closure is scheduled for 2:30-5 a.m. Wednesday. The closure normally takes place on the second Thursday of each month. It is occurring one day early this month because Thursday is Veterans Day.

During the maintenance work, drivers can expect the bridge to be closed to traffic for up to 30 minutes at a time. Washington State Department of Transportation bridge crews will perform safety checks and test the bridge drawspan to ensure proper working order.

Drivers will be alerted to possible 30-minute delays by electronic signs on highways that lead to the bridge.
