Bellevue motorcyclist killed

A Bellevue motorcyclist was killed Thursday night when a motorist crossed the center line on Highway 395 near Dear Park in eastern Washington and struck him.

Richard P. Wittgenstein, 58, was traveling southbound at 5 p.m. Aug. 19 when a car driven by Richard A. Handley, 65, of Loon Lake, crossed over the center line into the southbound lane. Wittgenstein died at the scene, according to the Washington State Patrol. He was wearing a helmet.

Handley sustained minor injuries that were treated at the scene, the Patrol said.

Charges are pending, according to WSP.
