A draping white tent glowed pink on Wednesday night, for the kick-off event of the official launch of Girl Power Hour on the Eastside.

The launch party in Kirkland was held at the Woodmark Hotel and was sponsored by Clutch and 425 magazine. Women were greeted by flashing camera lights on the red carpet, signature cocktails, sample desserts and appetizers.

Door prizes were given away towards the end of the evening, following an hour of socializing and casual networking time.

“The whole idea behind GPH is to create a fun environment for women to come and enjoy themselves while making connections with other like-minded women in the area,” explained GPH Founder Darnell Sue. “Who doesn’t love a good cocktail and a swag bag to take home?”

Guests in attendance included the women behind 425 magazine, Rachel Kim of VueSociety, Bellevue City Council candidate Betina Finely, and dozens of other savvy business women.

“We have received a lot of feedback from women wanting us to bring GPH to the Eastside,” Sue said. “Judging by the turnout tonight, this was the right decision.”

The next Eastside GPH event will take place on Dec. 2 at the new Red Door Spa at The Bravern in Bellevue.
