The countdown to the second annual Cycle the WAVE ride has begun with more than 300 people celebrating the kick-off party at Maggianos Little Italy on May 7.
John Curley emceed the event which included appetizers, drinks, door prizes and training information about the upcoming charity bike ride. Pam Gray and Rochelle Alhadeff from the Chat with Women radio show were also in attendance.
The evening featured a fashion show presented by Cycle the WAVE title sponsor REI. A nutritionist and cycling coach were on hand to answer questions and to help map out training programs for the anticipated ride.
The Cycle the WAVE ride will hit the pavement on September 20, benefiting Eastside Domestic Violence Prevention. The all-women bike ride will travel the streets of Bellevue, Issaquah, Renton, Maple Valley and Newcastle. Participants have three route options including the 25-mile Girly Girl route, the 40-mile Middle Sister route, or the 62-mile Burley Girl route.
One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the EDVP.
