Eastside Volunteer Fair coming to Crossroads
June 2, 2008 · Updated 1:10 PM
Up to 50 nonprofit agencies will share volunteer opportunities for individuals, families and civic groups at Family Resource Centers 11th annual Eastside Volunteer Fair. The Fair will be held on May 3, the final day of National Volunteer Week, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crossroads Bellevue, Northeast Eighth Street and 156th Avenue Northeast.
In addition to learning ways to weave themselves into the community, participants will enjoy music and other fun activities.
A display and raffle of two quilts is new this year. Proceeds from the $5 tickets will support the work of Family Resource Center to ensure all families are able to find the help they need, when they need it.
The Eastside Volunteer Fair is designed to provide a one-stop opportunity for the community to identify volunteer opportunities in which they would like to participate.? Participants learn which agency is a fit for their interests, where their civic club might make an impact and who is doing what out there.
The Centers Eastside Volunteer Fair is designed to increase one of the major resources used by agencies: volunteers.? It also serves as a means to focus attention on the multiple needs of nonprofits and the many ways for visitors to become engaged through service and support opportunities.
The nonprofit Family Resource Center is located at 16225 N.E. 87th in Redmond. More than 40,000 Eastsiders receive assistance each year from the 18 agencies operating on the Centers human services campus.
