Police remind residents of heat saftey for pets

Bellevue Police remind residents hot dogs are not cool

With temperatures expected to soar into the 90s this week, the Bellevue Police Department reminds residents and visitors to be aware of the stress that heat can cause pets. Never leave a pet in a hot car.

It can take only minutes for the temperature inside a locked car to soar to lethal levels. For example, on an 85-degree day, the temperature inside a vehicle can reach 130 degrees in a matter of minutes.

If you see a dog in distress inside of a hot car, call 911 and report it to the Bellevue Police Department.
