Eastsider Stacy Lill, co-owner of O Wines, received her own mirrored ball trophy on March 12 for winning the People’s Choice Voting Award. Stacy competed with seven other business and community leaders in a Dancing with the Stars format that raised $410,000 for Plymouth Housing, whose mission is to end homelessness. Each of the dancers trained for months with a professional dancer at the Century Ballroom in Seattle. Stacy wowed the audience in her custom designed costume and her many dance moves.

Artist Steve Jenson opened up his loft on Capital Hill in Seattle last week for a PNB STARS ’50s “Rock around the Loft” party that raised money for student scholarships to attend the PNB School. The retro evening included 1950’s inspired cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and dancing to jukebox tunes spun by DJ Miss Broadway. Patrons were in awe as the dance floor came alive with beautiful and graceful PNB company dancers including Ariana Lallone, Stanko Milov, Lucien Postlewaite, Jonathan Porretta, Chalnessa Eames, and Stacy Lowenberg. PNB STARS President Carrie Lee introduced PNB Corps de ballet dancer and past PNB STARS scholarship recipient Price Suddarth, who shared how important his scholarship played in his dream to pursue his ballet training at PNB. PNB has a ballet school in both Bellevue and Seattle, with training beginning at the young age of 4, for both boys and girls.

Joan Kelly, aka the “Eastside Shoe lady,” who I know has more shoes than the Neiman Marcus shoe department, produced a fabulous fashion show last week for the design students of The Art Institute. Joan looked fabulous wearing a designer fur vest, Philip Lim suede shorts and silk blouse, complimented with Marni high heel ankle boots. Unfortunately, she had to change into flat moccasin boots early into the evening, as her feet were killing her. Oh, what we women will do to look fabulous.

Camp Korey held its annual luncheon March 10 to a packed house at the Bellevue Hilton, raising over $100,000 for summer camps this coming August in Carnation. This year’s event Chairs’ were Suzan Chavez and Claudia Campanile. Founder Tim Rose shared his vision for the camp, and how it was created in 2005 in honor of his son, Korey Rose, who lost his life to bone cancer at the age of 18. Camp Korey is a safe environment for children with life threatening illnesses to spend a week of making new friends, creating memories, and being a kid, all paid for by donations made to Camp Korey. www.campkorey.org
