Opera arias, show tunes at Kirkland restaurant Dec. 6

Italian opera arias and musical theater selections will be performed at two dinner shows Sunday, Dec. 6 in Kirkland.

Featured will be six Northwest singers performing arias from such favorite operas as "La Boheme," The Barber of Seville," "Lucia di Lammermoor," "La Traviata" and "Madame Butterfly." Musical theater selections will include "I Want To Be a Prima Dona" from The Empress, "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables, "Joanna" from Sondheim's "Sweeny Todd" and "Can't Help Lovin' That Man of Mine" from Showboat; along with some holiday special carols.

The event will be at Calabrisella Ristorante Italiano, 132 Lake St. S.

Featured singers are Veronica and Craig Nim - lyric soprano and bass-baritone; Marcus Shelton, tenor; sopranos, Jennifer Bromagen and Sarah Fletcher; and baritone, Ryan Francis. The show is produced by Richard Engstrom of Bellevue, the past Education Vice-President of the Seattle Opera Guild, and Board member of the Performing Arts Festival/Eastside and Lyric Opera NW.

The music showcases are planned for 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Reservations are recommended at 425-822-7350.
