Martin Lawrence Galleries in Bellevue Square will host an evening with French master painter and pop illusionist Philippe Bertho from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 23.

New York Times Art Critic, William Zimmer, called Bertho’s paintings captivating, whimsical and adventurous.

Bertho can be described as a ‘Pop Illusionist.’ He creates what can be viewed as 21st century contemporary trompe l’oeil (to fool or trick the eye).

Martin Lawrence Galleries is located at 1023 Bellevue Square.
