Author David Laskin discusses 'The Family: Three Journeys Into the Heart of the 20th Century' at Temple B'Nai Torah Thursday

David Laskin, author of “The Children’s Blizzard” and a frequent contributor to The New York Times, will discuss the story of his October nonfiction release “The Family: Three Journeys Into The Heart Of The 20th Century” at Temple B’Nai Torah on Jan. 16.

The book recounts the story of a 19th century Jewish-Russian family that split and emigrated in three directions. One branch went to the United States and founded the Maidenform bra company. Another went to Palestine to pioneer the state of Israel. And yet another remained in Europe, suffering through the Nazi occupation.

The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. Temple B’Nai Torah is located at 15727 N.E. Fourth St.,  Bellevue.
