Applicants sought for Artist Trust Fellowship

February 19, 2012 · 3:20 PM

Artists practicing in craft, literary, media and music arts in Washington state are eligible to apply for the 2012 Artist Trust Fellowship. The program recognizes practicing professional artists of exceptional talent and demonstrated ability.

The award amount is $7,500; $7,000 is unrestricted and $500 is payable to artists upon completion of a Meet the Artist event. Meet the Artist events are offered by fellowship recipients to a community that has little or no access to the artist and their work. Past fellows have conducted events around the state, enriching community life throughout Washington.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by application deadline date, which is Feb. 26, be a generative artist, and a resident of Washington state at the time of application and when the award is granted. Applicants may not be a graduate or undergraduate matriculated student enrolled in any degree program by June 30, 2012.

Artists are encouraged to attend grant writing and professional development workshops and webinars offered by Artist Trust to artists around the state. Application guidelines and workshop information can be found at www.artisttrust.org.

Artists can download guidelines at www.artisttrust.org or by mailing a business sized, self-addressed stamped envelope to: 2012 Fellowship Application, Artist Trust, 1835 12th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98122.
