Bellevue artist wins art contest

Bellevue artist Suzanne DeCuir is the winner of this year's Daniel Smith Customer Art Contest. DeCuir's painting, Upper Deck, was selected from over 3,000 entries and appears on the back cover of the Daniel Smith August catalog.

Daniel Smith is a supplier of art materials with stores in Seattle and Bellevue and a quarterly catalog that is mailed to customers around the world. DeCuir received a $1,500 gift certificate for her winning entry.

DeCuir works in oils and acrylics, creating landscapes as well as aerial images. Her work is characterized by the use of strong shapes and layered textures. Her work is available through Lucia Douglas Gallery in Bellingham, the Seattle Art Museum Gallery, and the online gallery Artful Home. Her website is www.suzannedecuirfineart.com.
