Gunnar Nordstrom to exhibit Ray Pelley
October 28, 2010 · 3:57 PM
Bellevue's Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery will hold a one-person exhibit by Northwest photo realist painter Ray Pelley from Nov. 10 through Dec. 5.
Pelley has exhibited with the gallery for 18 years and has matured into a master of realism.
His early surreal paintings and silkscreens were tight and technically superb, but off beat as surreal work often is. As Pelley continued to paint for the gallery, his work matured into works that took on a photo real quality with a bit of a twist to satisfy his own artistic surreal nature.
These new paintings of "Washington Wines" are examples of his painting excellence. Wineries included this year are: Adam's Bench, Piety Flats, Challenger Ridge, DeLille Cellars, Columbia Winery, Williams Church, Matthews Estate, Whidbey Island Winery, Brian Carter and Dusted Valley.
An exhibit preview will be from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 10.
The Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery is located at 800 Bellevue Way Northeast #111, 425-827-2822.
