Two boater education classes will be offered in Bellevue through the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. They courses will help boaters acquire their Washington State boaters education card.

The first class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at Bellevue Fire Station 9, 12412 SE 69th Way. The second class will be on May 8 at the same times and same location.

Class and material fees are $27.50 and a additional $10 to acquire your boater education card.

In 2005 a law was passed in the State of Washington, mandating boaters aged 12 years and older to pass a boating safety course or an equivalency exam and to obtain a boater education card before operating a motorized vessel of 15 horsepower or greater. Boaters born before January 1, 1955 will be exempt from having to obtain a Boater Education Card.
