The Society of St. Vincent de Paul honored a Bellevue couple on Sunday with an award for outstanding service to the needy.

Bill and Cathy Griffin received the "Least of My Brethren" award during an appreciation dinner on March 21.

The Griffins have served the poor for the past 37 years as members of the St. Madeleine Sophie parish of St. Vincent de Paul. Their work has included helping neighbors who face eviction, hunger, and utility shut-offs, as well as coordinating the adoption of needy families during the Christmas season.

The couple received the Volunteer of the Year Award from their parish in 2009.
