Sport Clips raising funds for calling cards for veterans
October 30, 2009 · 3:16 PM
Sport Clips stores across the country, including one in Bellevue, is raising money through Nov. 14 to support the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW) Operation Uplink, a program that offers free call days and calling cards for deployed and hospitalized American soldiers.
The effort will include “The Biggest Haircut Day of the Year” on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, when the franchise will donate a dollar for every haircut service given that day in its more than 600 stores. In addition, all stores in Washington and Oregon will be giving free haircuts to all military and VFW members on Veteran’s Day.
Donations for Operation Uplink will be collected through individual store events and on-line at SportClips.com in an effort to reach and exceed this year’s goal of $125,000.
The Sport Clips store in Bellevue is located at 1645 140th Ave. NE.
