Medical Teams International raises hope in hard times

Medical Teams International, a locally based non-profit organization, raised nearly $1.7 million at its 10th Annual Field of Dreams Dinner and Auction on Saturday night at Safeco Field.

Nearly 97 percent of all proceeds given to Medical Teams International

This year's dinner and auction drew 820 guests, the largest turnout in the event’s 10-year history.

The event was co-chaired by Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and his wife Sarah and Horizon Air CEO Jeff Pinneo and his wife Janey. Honorary Chair and former Seahawks Coach Mike Holmgren kicked-off the dinner and live auction.

Medical Teams International is a humanitarian relief and development agency which has deployed more than 1,900 volunteer teams and shipped over $1.2 billion in antibiotics, surgical kits and lifesaving medicines to care for 35 million people in 100 countries. The organization serves everyone in need, regardless of race, creed, gender, or faith.

Locally, Medical Teams International runs a mobile dental program that provides approximately $5.8 million worth of dental care for more than 16,000 patients annually. More than 900 dental professionals donate their time for the program.
