Dr. Eric Hansen has plenty of bike helmets. What he needs are kids who need them.

This year, Hansen again will offer free helmets to kids 18 and younger from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16 at his office, Eastside Life Chiropractic.

"I have yet to run out of helmets in seven years," Hansen said, "which means more kids can be helped if I can spread the word to more families."

Hansen has offered the free bike helmets for seven years as a community service. Other businesses have donated food and coffee for the event and parents can get free massages.

"I do not sell anything at the event for me or my business," Hansen said of the event. "This is strictly a community service event that just happens to be really fun. It's kind of like playing Santa Claus for the day.

Hansen's office is located at 2032 148th Ave., N.E., Redmond. More information is available at 425.
