Bellevue launches online volunteering guide
April 21, 2009 · 10:24 AM
It's now easier to find a place to volunteer on the Eastside. The city of Bellevue has launched a new, online guide. The guide lists hundreds of positions with local cities, churches, schools, nonprofits and other agencies.
The city has launched the guide, which will be updated regularly, this week – National Volunteer Week. Links are organized by category, from “animals” to “tutoring,” “environmental stewardship” to “recreation.”
Bellevue itself has nearly 6,000 volunteers who contribute to the community in more than 40 programs – everything from coaching sports teams to performing complex mediations.
