Machiko Kaya, of Bellevue, is one of six students at Bellevue Community College who will leave for China on Sunday to participate in the National Model UN session in Xi’an.

The six delegates are all students in a year-long Political Science class at BCC.

The students will return Monday, Dec. 1.

BCC officials say it is unusual for community college students to be invited to this level of the Model UN. BCC is one of the few two-year colleges to have been chosen to take part in recent years.

The BCC students will represent Saudi Arabia.
