The Bellevue-based Seattle Humane Society will hold its annual Walk for the Animals on Oct. 4 at University Village Shopping Center.

“By pledging to support our Walk for the Animals, you will help us to save the lives of even more animals this year,” said Brenda Barnette, CEO for the Seattle Humane Society.

Contributions go to caring for shelter animals, funding educational programs and to spaying and neutering services.

The event begins at 9 a.m. with breakfast and dog-centric activities. The walk, which begins at 10:30 a.m., is along the Burke Gilman trail. After the walk, University Village will host FIDOfest, with all the proceeds going to Humane Society.

Registration is $30 and can be done online at www.seattlehumane.org.
