Boating classes offered

 

The Bellevue Sail & Power Squadron will offer a number of boating classes on the Eastside.

The America's Boating Class, 3rd Edition, qualifies a person for the Washington Boaters Card. It is being offered along with the squadron's on-the-water training program.

An all-day course will be offered March 9 beginning at 7:30. The venue hasn't been determined by information will be on the squadron's web site, bellevuepowersquadron.org/Education.

The ABC seven-week class will begin March 14, from 7-9 p.m. at Lake Hills Elementary School, 14310 SE 12th St, Bellevue.

A number of two-hour seminars also will be offered. Registration is available online.

Marine Radar: Wednesday, Feb. 13, 6-8 p.m., at Bellevue West Marine, 13211 Northup Way, Bellevue.

Tides and Currents" Wednesday, Feb. 20, 6-8 p.m., at Bellevue West Marine, 13211 Northup Way, Bellevue.

Skipper Saver: Five week course begins Thursday, Feb. 21, 6-8 p.m. at Lake Hills Elementary School, 14310 SE 12th St, Bellevue  for the first two weeks and then at a private residence for the final three sessions.

VHF Marine Radio: Wednesday, March 13, 6-8 p.m., at Bellevue West Marine, 13211 Northup Way, Bellevue.

Boat Handling Under Power: Saturday, March 23, 1-3+ p.m. at 2835 82nd Ave SE #300, Mercer Island.

Basic Coastal Navigation: Wednesday, April 10, 6-8 p.m., at Bellevue West Marine, 13211 Northup Way, Bellevue.

Using GPS: Wednesday, April 17, 6-8 p.m. at Bellevue West Marine, 13211 Northup Way, Bellevue.

Advanced Grade Classes and Electives are now open to non-members. For registration and more information, go online and check under Education, Advanced Grades and Electives. These are eight-week classes from 7-9 p.m.

Marine Communications Systems begins Monday April 1 at Lake Hills Elementary School, 14310 SE 12th St, Bellevue.

Cruise Planning class begins begins Tuesday, April 23 at Lake Hills Elementary School, 14310 SE 12th St, Bellevue.
