Brendan James McCloskey passed away Dec. 25, 2010 at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue. He was 79 years old.

The son of Sara and Patrick McCloskey, he was born in Derry, Northern Ireland on Sept. 10, 1931.

He met Anne Grehan, his future wife of 50 years, in Belfast. They were married on Sept. 1, 1960.

In 1966, Mr. McCloskey accepted a job from The Boeing Company as an engineer designing the 747 and the couple moved to Bellevue.

The couple recently moved to Issaquah.

Survivors include his wife, Anne; daughter, Patricia; sister, Pauline of Derry, Northern Ireland; and two grandsons.

Services were held Dec. 29 at St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue. He will be buried on Thursday at Upper Hillside Cemetery in Issaquah.
