Gingerbread house display benefits children's museum
December 6, 2010 · Updated 11:52 AM
There’s a whole lot of building going on across the Eastside and the materials are all edible. Fanciful gingerbread structures built by local businesses and community groups will be on display Dec. 3-9 at the Hilton Hotel Bellevue, with family gingerbread house-building workshops offered on Dec. 4, 2010 by KidsQuest Children’s Museum.
The 15 structures on display will be judged and awarded in five categories, then auctioned by silent bid to benefit KidsQuest Children’s Museum. Award categories include the People’s Choice Award for which the community votes. Celebrity judges present the awards from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4 with the Newcastle Elementary School chorus performing. Photographs with Santa Claus will also be available complimentary with a Hilton Hotel Bellevue restaurant lunch receipt, or $10 for non-diners. The Hilton Hotel Bellevue is located at 300-112th Avenue SE, Bellevue.
