Eastside FC takes on Eastside hunger
November 21, 2010 · 12:09 PM
Eastside Premier Soccer Club united to fight hunger on the Eastside with a Halloween food drive. Dan Bubar’s G’97 Blue team challenged all the teams within the soccer club to see “Who Has The Most Giving Spirit?" The G’97 Blue girls won the challenge for the second year in a row with the most items collected. Tom Turner’s G’97 White team took second place. During the last two weeks in October, Eastside FC collected and donated over 1,400 pounds of food to local area food banks. “It was great to see our soccer club rally together for a good cause. There’s a sense of strong commitment to one another and to the community.” said Susan McGinnis, Blue Team manager.
