Free tutoring offered some Bellevue students

Bellevue students eligible for reduced-price lunch at Lake Hills and Stevenson Elementary schools and at Highland Middle School can receive free tutoring in math and reading.

The program is a benefit of the No Child Left Behind Act and will be offered through College Tutors.

Students can enroll in the program by contacting College Tutors at 206-659-4156. All students must submit enrollment form to be considered for the program no later than Oct. 31.

The after school tutoring program provides a trained and qualified tutor to meet one-on-one with each student. The sessions are designed to help the student in math and/or reading, as well as provide an role model for school success.

Tutoring sessions may be arranged in the family home, or a nearby location such as a library. All materials are supplied and there is no cost to the family.
