The city of Bellevue along with the Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the University of Washington Business School hosted a reception for Pacific Rim bankers at Bellevue City Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
The University of Washington Business School conducts an annual summer Executive Program for Pacific Rim bankers. This year about 35 bankers from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, United States, Turkey and Poland attended the program.
At the Bellevue reception, bankers were able to meet and talk with local business people and bank and finance representatives. An estimated 85 people attended the reception.
Speakers included Elaine Chan and Pauline Lau of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce; Bellevue Mayor Grant Degginger, councilmember Conrad Lee. Bellevue’s Director of Economic Development Robert Derrick, and Jennifer Lang of the University of Washington Business School, also attended.
This is the second year the reception has been held in Bellevue. The event is used to promote international trade and international relations.
