Northwest Kidney Center gets a remodel

Construction crews this week began remodeling Northwest Kidney Centers’ dialysis center at 1474 112th Ave. N.E., in Bellevue. Improvements will include an accessible, covered patient drop-off area and space for free community classes about kidney health and treatment options. The two-story clinic opened in 1981. Last year it provided 11,789 life-sustaining dialysis treatments for Eastside residents with kidney failure, removing wastes and extra fluid from their bloodstreams. The Bellevue center is one of 15 operated by the nonprofit healthcare provider in King and Clallam counties. For more information go to www.nwkidney.org. - COURTESY PHOTO, C.B. Bell.
