Skillings to head Bellevue-based ACEC board

Tom Skillings, founding principal of Skillings-Connolly Inc., has been elected as the 2008-2009 chairman of the board of directors of the Bellevue-based American Council of Engineering Companies of Washington (ACEC.)
Skillings has served on the ACEC Board in numerous capacities including as a member of the Awards and Membership Committee, the ACEC/WSDOT Executive Committee, vice president and, most recently, as president-elect.
Joining Skillings as officers are: Dwight Miller, Parametrix, Inc., chairman-elect; Chris Robertson, Shannon & Wilson, Inc., vice chair; and Nancy Walker, MWH Americas, Inc., vice chair.
The directors for 2008-2009 are: Bob Axley, Wood Harbinger, Inc. John Franklin, CH2M Hill, Inc.; Steve Johnston, Landau Associates, Inc.; Mark Napier, J-U-B Engineers, Inc.; Carol Slaughterbeck, Herrera Environmental Consultants. Gary Bourne, BHC Consultants, LLC, will serve as the ACEC national director until 2010, and ACEC president and CEO is Bill Garrity.
ACEC Washington is the professional trade association providing government advocacy and business education to consulting engineering firms, land surveyors, planners and scientists in all engineering disciplines throughout Washington.
