Rudy's Barbershop moving down the block

Rudy's Barbershop in downtown Bellevue plans to move down the block after a new development project closes its current location on Main Street this summer.

Rudy's had to find a new location with construction of The Gateway — a mixed-use project on the northwest corner of Bellevue Way and Main Street — requiring demolition of its building and several others.

The barbershop was lucky enough to find a new site down the street at 10713 Main St., the old Jasmine Thai restaurant building.

"We signed a lease and we're on our way," said Katie Trent, Rudy's operations manager. "It's just a stone's throw from our current location and we're going to renovate, make it look great and move in in a couple months."

Rudy's plans to move in early summer and will remain open at its current location through May.
