Oma Bap, Fatburger close
Peter Pak, owner of the Oma Bap restaurant in Bellevue, says he had to close his doors Sunday after unsuccessful negotiations for a lease renewal with the building’s landlord.
“It’s been great to be a part of the downtown community and sad to have to leave,” Pak said.
“I did take a gamble in signing a short-term lease and, unfortunately, it didn’t end the way I’d hoped.”
The fast casual Korean restaurant started in its location on 120 Bellevue Way NE under the remainder 32 month lease Pak took over from Baja Fresh. Fatburger also closed last week after failing to renegotiate a lease.
Pak said he is now looking for a place for Oma Bap in the Seattle area and waiting for new construction in Bellevue to occur, which may open up better leasing options.
